In the meantime, here's our seven top seasonal beauty tips
1. Water
You may think increased water intake is important in the hotter months but keeping your body hydrated during winter is really important too. Stick to around 6 -8 glasses a day (herbal teas are a good alternative if you want something warm) which will help prevent dry, itchy skin and keep eyes sparkling. Cut down on caffeine and alcohol as both speed up dehydration. If you are drinking alcohol alternate with water to rehydrate your body and reduce the risk of a hangover.
2. Richer formulations
Swap your summer weight moisturising lotion for a richer dry cream. The more plant oils a moisturiser contains the more effectively it protects against moisture loss. Decleor offers richer formulations of all its day creams so select the right one for your skin type to keep skin soft and supple. Using an aromessence night balm in the evening will also give skin an intensive overnight boost too.
3. Keep it warm
Tempting as it may be to sink into a hot and steamy bath, hot water robs the skin of natural oils. Use lukewarm water instead and add a few drops of oil to your bath water to help skin retain precious moisture lost during bathing and always moisturise your body afterwards with a product like system corps.
4. Don't forget to exfoliate
By gently buffing away dead skin cells you'll ward off that tight, itchy feeling and also give a better base for your misturiser to penetrate. Phytopeel natural exfoliating cream for the face is one of my favourite products as it gently exfoliates your facial skin and can be used on the most sensitive skin.
5. Humidify
Increase the air's moisture levels, by investing in a humidifier. They're especially good for eczema and asthma suffers as well as helping to prevent skin from drying and getting itchy.
6. Take a supplement
Antioxidants can help boost skin from within. Good ones for this time of year are Vitamin C, B and E plus Zinc and Magnesium.
7. Exercise
You may not feel like exercising this time of year but try to keep your activity levels up. It will boost your stamina and encourage increased blood flow - good for your hear and your skin. This could alos help ward off the winter blues.
