I often get asked why I don't steam and extract blackheads. The reason is that the skin's pores are shaped like tubes so when you extract what comes out of the top also is happening under the skin. And that means yuk being spread around your face. Plus often you end up with a bigger pore(s) than when you started and that will mean an even bigger black head next time.
Also have you noticed when its summer your skin gets more spotty that is because the heat means the oil glands in your skin produce more oil and that means the chance of more spots and blackheads. So when you steam what happens - yes you have guessed the skin gets hot so your oil glands produce more oil.
So, what is the answer to get rid of the dreaded blackheads and why are they formed?
Blackheads are the results of oily skin and blocked pores. The “black” appearance is caused by the oxidising effect of air on the sebum (oil) in a blocked pore and the melanin pigment from the dead skin cells. The best way to get rid of blackheads is to remove the cause of them – excessive sebum and dead skin cells.
Firstly exfoliate a maximum of twice a week, preferably in the evening using PHYTOPEEL NATURAL EXFOLIATING CREAM.
